Knowing that our children arrive safely wherever their day takes them is one of the greatest advantages technology has brought to modern parenting. Of course, parents can check in with a call or text, but many are turning to social media to see their teen’s whereabouts.
Enter Snapchat, which introduced “Home Safe,” a location-sharing feature in summer 2025. It became a favorite among over 1 million users, many of whom are parents. It offers an easy way to confirm that a loved one has arrived home safely.
When ”Home Safe” first launched, it enabled users to set a “My Home” location on the Snap Map and activate a one-time, automatic alert that notified a trusted contact whenever they walked through the door. Its singular focus was to eliminate the need to text a loved one who may be anxiously waiting to know they’re home safe and sound.
But since our lives aren’t limited to going just to and from our homes, the new expansion now allows alerts to be set for any destination. This updated “Arrival Notifications” feature allows flexible notifications across multiple locations to fit a unique routine.
