Marcus Preciado brings a unique and impactful background to his new role as President of HomeWord. Born in Panama to a Special Forces Green Beret father, Marcus grew up between Panama and North Carolina before settling in Santa Barbara for his final years of high school. While playing football and studying business at San Diego State University, he met his wife, Tracey, with whom he has been married for over 25 years.

Corporate Leadership: He began his professional journey in the corporate world, leading teams and regions at prominent companies such as Enterprise Rent-a-car, Owens Corning, and White Digital Media.
Ministry and Community Impact: For over a decade, Marcus served in various executive leadership positions at churches in San Diego, including:
- Director of Sports, overseeing 30+ sports ministries – The Rock Church
- Director of Strategic Relationships, developing events and campaigns – The Rock Church
- Campus Pastor of the Point Loma campus, where he impactfully led a dynamic staff, supported over 500 weekly volunteers, and encouraged a congregation of 6,500+ Sunday service attendees – The Rock Church
- Executive Pastor, leading operations, staff and ministry – New Vintage Church
Educational & Non-Profit Leadership: Marcus further expanded his impact as the Athletic Director at Classical Academy High School, leading the department to its most successful tenure in the school’s history. His dedication to community service extended to roles as VP of Development at Hope Leadership Academy and Ministry Director of Christian Union at Stanford University.
Personal Life and Values
Marcus and Tracey are dedicated parents of four children, who love and serve Jesus. Diego, their eldest son, recently graduated from Stanford University, where he studied Mechanical Engineering and was a member of the football team. Macey and Kayla, their two daughters, attend Westmont College, and have enjoyed being members of the soccer team. Marco, the youngest, is a junior in high school.
