Some of us are familiar with another social media meal trend called girl dinner, which gained popularity a few years ago. It basically consists of snacks like crackers and cheese, olives, almonds, and other little nibbles that look, well, pretty on a plate.

Boy kibble is similarly low on effort, but instead centers around a bowl of rice and ground beef—and not much else. A content creator and International Federation of Bodybuilding Pro named Christian Miles claims he started the trend with one simple Reel.

“Simply having shoulders that look great in a tank top does not afford someone authority on nutrition,” cautions Destini Moody, RD, CSSD, LD at VNutrition.

But she cautions that the content can also expose teens to information that can be unhealthy, misleading, and even unsafe. Dr. Szar advises making sure claims made on social media include citations and evidence.
