Disney announced that it’s making big strides for inclusion by helping kids of all different abilities enjoy their favorite Disney songs. In honor of National Deaf History Month, Disney+ has released three animated musical specials, reimagined in sign language.
The songs featured in the new musical episodes are “The Next Right Thing” (from Frozen 2), “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” (from Encanto) and “Beyond” (from Moana 2).
In collaboration with Disney animators, eight performers from Deaf West Theatre translated the lyrics from the songs into sign language. According to Disney, the new sign language lyrics are focused “on concepts and emotion instead of a word-for-word transcription.”
All three of the new music videos are now available to stream on Disney+.
