Kellogg’s recently announced that they’re one year ahead of schedule in their promise to remove all artificial food dyes and colors from their products—meaning the changes will be made by the end of 2026. The cereal, snack and frozen food brand joins a number of food and beverage companies that are committing to the strict use of natural colors.
This promise is part of the brand’s larger commitment to their new SPOONS nutrition guidelines, which stands for simple ingredients, protein to the table, outstanding fiber, other nutrition foods, nutrients you need and single-digit added sugar.
The company assures customers that the new recipes will still have “the same great taste and all of the original colors” of their old formulas, just with natural sources.
The original announcement was published in August 2025 after pressure from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to eliminate the use of synthetic food dyes in America’s food supply.
